An interesting feature came in the Android version of WhatsApp

Science and Technology Desk: Metar-owned popular messaging platform WhatsApp is bringing one new feature after another. They are constantly updating themselves for the benefit of the users. As a result, the experience of using the platform is getting better. The quantity of clients is likewise expanding.

Meanwhile, WhatsApp has come up with another new feature for the users. One of the most popular messaging apps in the world now offers more security. Images or videos from disappearing messages will no longer be automatically saved in the phone's gallery.

This means that if the disappearing message feature is enabled in a chat thread, the instant messaging platform will no longer save any data from that chat. As a result, even if auto-saving is enabled for WhatsApp, no media including images, videos, GIFs will be saved in the phone's gallery.

WhatsApp has been dealing with this component for a long while now. Previously, if a chat had a disappearing message mode turned on, all the media in that chat would be automatically saved in the gallery. The company believes that this could be a cause for concern for security.

Because if the disappearing message is on, after a certain period of time all the messages are deleted but the media files remain in the gallery. As a result, if the media sent to the recipient continues to be stored, it may be a cause of considerable concern for the sender. But the new update will solve this problem now, because the disappearing message will no longer be saved in the media phone's gallery.

However, if a user wants to save any media from the disappearing chat thread on Android or iOS, you can do so very easily. But in that case users have to do this work manually. Source: Hindustan Times
